This programme is a proactive response to the needs of children and young people through self-empowerment and peer-to-peer support. The programme seeks to raise awareness of pro-social values and enhance the well-being and life chances of children and young people through various topics and interventions.
Childline School Ambassadors are expected to serve as positive role models for their fellow students and peers, while promoting the services of Childline. They will engage with a range of topics, including teamwork, self-esteem, communication skills, peer-to-peer support and leadership skills.
Roles of Ambassadors
- To serve as role models for other students within the school community.
- To promote non-violence and report incidents of bullying and other forms of school violence.
- To inform students about Childline and other child protection services.
- To direct students who require support to the relevant national child protection agency.
- To distribute Childline brochures to students and raise awareness of issues affecting children and young people.
- To observe the student population and make recommendations that can inspire positive change.
- To provide peer-to-peer support to students in need.
- To attend all meetings called by the Staff Ambassador or Head Ambassador.
