Helpline Active Listener Training Programme 2026

Make a Difference Through Listening

Childline’s Helpline Active Listener Training Programme prepares individuals to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support to children, youth and families through our helpline services.

Whether you are a student, professional, retiree or simply passionate about helping others, this programme provides the skills and practical experience needed to become a Volunteer Active Listener.


Who Can Apply?

  • Open to anyone aged 18 years and over.
  • No prior experience required.

Training Details

Theoretical Training

Dates: 4 July – 25 July 2026

Schedule: 4 Saturdays | 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Format:

  • 2 Virtual Sessions
  • 2 In-Person Sessions

Practical Training

Period: August 2026

Duration: 20 Hours

Practical training dates are flexible and will be arranged with participants.


Benefits of the Programme

Upon successful completion, participants will:

  • Become eligible to serve as Volunteer Active Listeners with Childline
  • Receive a Certificate of Completion
  • Gain practical skills in active listening and supportive communication
  • Receive lunch, snacks and stationery during in-person sessions

Programme Fee

TT$1,200

Payment may be made in two instalments.
