Music can affect us

Today music is a necessity in many people’s lives.  People listen to music all the time, from students who listen to it at social gatherings, adults driving to work, and those who listen to music to plainly enjoy life. Our point is every day, almost everyone will encounter music whether intentionally or voluntarily as it surrounds us.

Music is used in many different ways. Some people use it as an outlet of expression and people use music to identify with who they are.   Nowadays, music has a major impact on children’s lives everywhere. Teens begin using music as ways of asserting their individuality. In our society today there is a lot of music that have destructive themes, carry negative messages, promote violence, and advocate and encourage immoral behaviour.  We must be wary of the consequences of attempting to live out the scenarios described in these songs.

Music can also impact a child’s life positively.  Some artists have been able to successfully touch the lives of both adults and children as the messages they bring  across in their music promote unity and love and touch on everyday life that most can relate to. Listening to music can be a very enjoyable experience and can even be therapeutic.
