#My Story David Charkoo
Growing up, David often felt the weight of expectations: balancing school, stress, and personal challenges wasn’t always easy. There were moments when he felt overwhelmed and unsure of himself.

“There were times I doubted myself...I felt like life was just too much to handle, and that no one really understood what I was going through.”
Even in those difficult moments, David found lessons in his struggles. “Those challenges taught me that strength isn’t about never falling, it’s about getting back up,” he says.
Support from others played a big role in helping him heal and grow. “My family reminded me of my worth. My friends listened. My teachers encouraged me to keep trying,” David explains. “I learned that it’s okay to ask for help and to give yourself time to heal.”
Over time, David’s perspective on mental health began to change. “Struggling doesn’t make you weak; it makes you human,” he says. “Everyone faces challenges, but no one should have to face them alone. Checking in on your friends and reminding them they’re not alone can make a real difference.”
David’s story reminds us that healing happens through connection and compassion. By supporting one another and encouraging open conversations about mental health, we can help create a world where every young person feels understood, valued, and supported, because in the end, support saves lives.
